Contractors’ All-Risks
Contractors’ All Risks Insurance (commonly abbreviated to CAR) is required when a new building in the course of construction or an existing property is undergoing repairs or alterations. Such a policy will cover loss or damage to the works in progress, including the materials both on and off site, which are being used for incorporation in the contract until handover. Engineering and Inspection Insurance
Most buildings insurance policies would exclude damage to plant and machinery unless caused by an insured peril, (i.e. fire, flood etc). An Engineering policy arranged by Cadogan Keelan Westall will cover the excluded perils to plant and machinery such as sudden and unforeseen damage, breakdown and explosion/collapse. You are legally required to ensure that independent inspections of certain items of plant and machinery are carried out at regular periods to ensure their safe operation & we can arrange for these inspections to be carried out.
